Did you know furniture has its own “Fashion Week?"
It’s called the High Point Market, and the fall event recently took place in High Point, North Carolina. This event is the ideal time to learn about beautiful new products, unique merchandising concepts, and up-and-coming trends. There are 2,000 furniture manufacturers in attendance each year and over 12.2 million square feet of exhibit and showroom space.
2020 is shaping up to be an exciting year for furniture trends of all kinds. But in this blog post, we wanted to highlight the 2020 bedroom design trends in Miami to look out for. Check them out below!
Miami Bedroom Design Trends for 2020
At Decor House Furniture, we offer the best selection of luxury bedroom furniture, plus a variety of affordable modern furniture brands. After previewing the 2020 bedroom collections, these are some of the upcoming trends we're most excited about:
1. Patterns
Solid colors certainly have their place, but 2020 is looking like the year of bold patterns. Strong floral patterns, stripes, and other vibrant motifs add interest to your space. You can even experiment with mixing patterns for a truly unique maximalist look.
2. Curved Silhouettes
Think about your luxury bedroom (or any room in your home) and consider how many straight, perpendicular lines you have in your furniture and other accessories. While there’s certainly a place for straight lines, your 2020 bedroom may not be it. Softer, curving lines in your furniture help facilitate a warmer, cozier environment.
3. Wallpaper
It’s the comeback of wallpaper — you probably thought you’d never see the day! Although painting your walls is still a great way to revamp your bedroom space, there’s no doubt that adding a bold wallpaper print can make for a truly unique statement as well.
4. Velvet
The soft luxury of velvet is perfect for the bedroom — especially in darker hues such as navy, maroon, purple, and deep green. Try velvet on your headboard or footboard, or choose a bedroom chair or bench in velvet.
5. Mixing Metals
If your bedroom style incorporates metals, consider mixing metals. Gold or brass hues can look just as good with silver or copper. In a bedroom, metals may make an appearance in your bedside lamps, in your ceiling lighting fixture, or even as the base of chairs or tables.
6. Colors to Watch For
Two colors are taking center stage in bedroom styles for 2020:
Green Accents
The Pantone Color of the Year for 2019 was Living Coral, a pinkish, orangish hue. But 2020 is moving away from warm colors and embracing the freshness of green — not as much of the turquoise and seafoam greens we’ve seen in the past decade, but more of the emerald and grass greens. Statement pieces in these greens are being used as accents against neutrals such as grey, beige, and black.
Black
Speaking of black, black continues to be a hot color trend from 2019. Believe it or not, black comes in many different shades — from ebony and charcoal to café noir, black olive, onyx, and jet. Depending on what style you’re after in your bedroom, any number of these black shades can help make your space more modern, moody, and luxurious.
