Edgeworth Side Table

The Theodore Alexander Edgeworth Side Table is a cabinetmaker's showpiece in miniature: an oval moulded edge top in morado and satinwood veneers, centred on a floral penwork inlay and set above a crossbanded frieze. The top pivots to reveal a compartment underneath, so this oval accent table can swallow remote controls, coasters and reading glasses while still looking every bit the antique-inspired heirloom.

Design & Craftsmanship

Khaya wood carries the structure, with morado and satinwood veneers laid across the top and frieze and brass reserved for the feet. Ebonised and gilt ring turned mahogany legs splay outward, terminate in finely cast brass feet and are joined by a concave sided undertier that steadies the whole design. Three finishes are offered: Italian Gold 65 without rub through (PCF006D.2B), Black Rub Through 65 on a Ramsey mahogany base (VCF132.10.1A2B) and Dartmoor 65 (VCF770.2B). The Theodore Alexander Edgeworth Side Table comes from the English Cabinet Maker collection, the most traditional of the maker's ranges, and its pivoting top storage earns its keep in a panelled Pinecrest study, a Coral Gables living room or a formal entry off the courtyard.
