Jayson Console Table

Slim enough for a hallway at just 18 inches deep, the Theodore Alexander Jayson Console Table stretches 65 inches wide on four angled knife edge legs. The rectangular top is wrapped in cerejeira swirl veneer and framed by a beveled frieze, so the piece reads as one clean plane floating above an open base. It works as an entryway console, along a dining room wall, or behind a sofa that sits away from the wall.

Design & Craftsmanship

Cerejeira is a South American hardwood whose figure swirls rather than running straight, and the veneer here is laid so that movement carries across the whole width before the bevel of the frieze cuts it off. The Ember finish, coded VCF1510.1C2HA3B, keeps that grain visible under a warm, deep tone instead of hiding it. The legs lean slightly outward and taper to a knife edge, which is what stops a console this long from feeling heavy, and there are 27.25 inches of clearance under the apron for stools, baskets or a pair of table lamps on a nearby chest.
