Lavinia's Supper Party Center Table

The Theodore Alexander Lavinia's Supper Party Center Table is a circular Regency center table reproduced from the Althorp estate, banded in morado and pollard veneers with a carved edge, four frieze drawers with brass handles, and a hexagonal column that flares into outswept reeded legs on castors. At 48 inches across it seats four for an intimate supper, and between meals it works as a library table, a hall centerpiece or a games table in a formal living room.

Design & Craftsmanship

Theodore Alexander builds the table in khaya wood with khaya, oak and morado veneers and brass hardware, then finishes it in Ramsey Mahogany (VCF133), a warm, polished brown that shows off the contrast between the banded top and the figured center. The frieze drawers give the piece quiet storage for coasters, cards and cutlery, and the castors on the reeded legs mean it can be rolled aside when the room is cleared. Clearance under the apron is 25½ inches, enough for most dining and side chairs.
