Penreath Chair

The Theodore Alexander Penreath Chair is a hand carved Chippendale style dining chair that follows the manner of Thomas Chippendale: a serpentine top rail rises above a pierced vase splat, and the upholstered drop-in seat rests on square chamfered legs joined by stretchers. Theodore Alexander's Essential collection carves the Penreath side chair in khaya wood and finishes it in Light Georgian (VCF887.1A2B), a lighter mahogany tone that lets the carving of the splat and rail read clearly. The drop-in seat is covered in Draper Performance fabric (UP5409), 100% polyester with cleaning code S, so spills from a Sunday brunch are less of a worry than the antique it was modelled on.
