Subtly Incised Console Table

Twelve inches deep and nearly 38 inches wide, the Theodore Alexander Subtly Incised Console Table was designed for the walls most furniture cannot use. Two frieze drawers run beneath the top, and two further tiers sit between square tapering supports, giving three usable levels in a footprint that barely interrupts a corridor. As a narrow entryway table it takes mail, lamps and a tray of keys without crowding the door.

Design & Craftsmanship

Khaya wood and khaya veneer are used throughout, incised with the restrained detail that gives the piece its name and finished in antiqued Castle Bromwich (VCF306) so the edges look gently worn in rather than sanded new. The drawers sit flush in the frieze, the tiers are open on all sides to keep the console from reading as a solid block, and an anti-tip kit is supplied for households with small children.
