The Hall Bench

A faithful reproduction of a Regency original made around 1820 in the manner of George Bullock, the Theodore Alexander The Hall Bench pairs a reeded solid seat with carved scroll end supports and turned, fluted, tapering legs. A loose button-upholstered cushion in Old English Leather sits on top. It suits a traditional primary bedroom, a dressing room or an entry where a Regency-style bench with real presence is wanted.

Design & Craftsmanship

The bench belongs to Theodore Alexander's Rep.li.ca collection, a line of pieces reproduced from documented antiques; the original sold at auction in London. It is carved from khaya wood and finished in Antique Ramsey Mahogany with Italian gold rub-through, the parcel-gilt highlights catching the light along the reeding and carving. The leather seat cushion is trimmed with welting, and the seat sits 20 inches from the floor.
