The Middleton Dresser II

The Theodore Alexander The Middleton Dresser II is a twelve drawer dresser with the proportions of a Federal-era chest and the pale, chalky surface of a limewash. Its reeded-edge top has subtle corner projections and a gentle bowfront center framed by leaf-carved uprights, and the case rests on turned legs. Three frieze drawers run across the top, with nine graduated crossbanded drawers below, so this is a dresser for a primary bedroom that has to hold a full wardrobe with something left over.

Design & Craftsmanship

Khaya wood and khaya veneer build the case, finished in Faux Grey Marble (PCF720), which TA shows as a soft limewash. The crossbanding on the drawer fronts and the reeding along the top edge both show through the paint as texture, and the verdigris brass hardware adds a weathered green note against the grey. Inside, a felt-lined jewelry tray insert keeps rings, watches and earrings from rattling around loose, and an anti-tip kit is included for wall anchoring.
