Finely cast and engraved brass capitals and mounts mark the corners, and spiral turned legs in mahogany carry the whole thing down to engraved cast brass toupie feet. Design & Craftsmanship

The piece comes from the Stephen Church collection, where classical proportion and heavy brass work are the signature. Khaya wood underpins the construction, the Madrone burl veneer supplies the figure across the top and Morado banding draws the edge, all under the Winterize 1 finish (VCF1607.2D). A brass molded undertier links the four legs partway down, adding rigidity and a place for a stack of books, while the tapering lower legs keep the profile light despite the amount of metal involved.
