The Caracole Impossible Cube End Table turns a simple cube into an optical puzzle. Intricately pieced veneers in Dyed Tupelo, Japanese Sen and Madrona Burl are laid in a geometric pattern across the top and lower shelf, shifting between Otter, Woodland Gray and Dreamy Burl tones so the surface appears to fold in on itself. A Brushed Deep Bronze metal frame holds the composition, and a removable Smoked Bronze glass shelf in between adds reflection and a second display level. Design & Craftsmanship
Introduced in Caracole's Fall 2023 collection, the Impossible Cube celebrates parquetry, the time-honored technique of fitting small pieces of veneer into a pattern. The same visual language ties it to Caracole's Escher chest and Illusion cocktail table, so the three can be used together across a room. The tempered glass shelf is 3/8 inch thick, tinted Smoked Bronze and fully removable, and the plinth base is finished in Almost Black. As a parquetry end table it is at home in a study, beside a reading chair or as a pair flanking a sofa.
