Design & Craftsmanship
Periscope was introduced in Caracole's Spring 2022 collection, and its appeal comes from the contrast of three materials: the dark, visibly grained ash, the woven silver raffia wrapped column at its waist, and the metal inlay on the top. The Dark Chocolate finish is applied so the pores of the ash remain visible, which gives the surface a depth that a solid opaque finish cannot match. The raffia band catches light differently from the wood, so the column changes character as you move around it. As a pedestal accent table it needs no more than a corner: beside a swivel chair in a Coconut Grove reading nook, between two chairs in an Aventura living room, or at the end of a Pinecrest sofa where a full end table would be too much.
