Squared off, quiet and useful, the Theodore Alexander Repose Closed Nightstand is a three-drawer nightstand standing on a plinth base, with flush drawer fronts and nothing protruding to catch a sleeve in the dark. At 32 inches wide it holds a lamp, a stack of books and a carafe at once, and it reads just as well beneath a window or against the wall of a study as it does beside a bed.
Design & Craftsmanship
The carcass is oak wood with oak veneer, hand finished over several stages so the brushed grain remains visible under the colour. Choose Grey Oak, code PCF1175.1K2HA3F, or Charcoal Oak, code PCF1186.1L2HA3F. Three drawers stack behind flush fronts that sit level with the case, so the rectangular block is never broken up, while the plinth base keeps the piece grounded rather than perched on legs. An anti-tip kit is supplied. The Theodore Alexander Repose Closed Nightstand belongs to the Repose collection, so companion case goods in the same two oaks can be specified when a bedroom is planned as a set.
Bedrooms in Key Biscayne and Coral Gables often set pale walls above dark floors; the lighter oak stays soft against either, while the charcoal gives contrast without resorting to black lacquer. At 28 inches high it clears the rails of most upholstered beds and keeps the top surface within easy reach from the pillow.
