Designed by Alexa Hampton for her Marlborough collection with Theodore Alexander, the Salinger is built from khaya wood and khaya veneer, with the swirling figure of the wood providing the decoration and brass providing the polish. Two drawers pull out on the front, an open shelf at the bottom holds books or a bag, and the molded accents, Hampton Brass ferrules and oval drawer pulls, give the piece its Deco character. Cambridge is one colorway and Geo Coast is the other, and both share the same brass hardware. It suits a Coral Gables home with traditional bones as well as a Brickell apartment with a glamorous streak.
