Four posts carry the Theodore Alexander Spencer London Poster Bed to 89 inches, tall enough to give a bedroom a ceiling-height gesture without a curtain in sight. The posts are slim, the rails plain, and a fine line of inlaid steel travels through the veneer. It is made in Queen, King and California King, each size in Fulham or Chelsea.
Design & Craftsmanship
The bed is maple with figured sycamore veneer, brass and stainless steel inlay, built for Theodore Alexander's Spencer London collection, a group drawn from Lord Spencer's London townhouse and worked in sycamore, maple and khaya crotch wood. Fulham (VCF1973) and Chelsea (VCF1972) are the two tones, and all three mattress sizes are made in both, so a Queen in Chelsea and a California King in Fulham are equally standard orders. The frame takes most adjustable mattress frames, and a 6" box spring is recommended. In a Coconut Grove primary bedroom with generous ceilings, the Theodore Alexander Spencer London Poster Bed sets the height everything else is measured against.
