Design & Craftsmanship

Alexa Hampton designed the Marlborough collection for Theodore Alexander around beech wood frames and brass detailing, and the Wharton chair shows both: the frame is beech in the Cambridge finish (VCF1557.2A-12) and each leg ends in a brass ferrule. The sculpted wood arms flow from the back down to the seat in one continuous line. Upholstery is UP6712 fabric, 100% polyester with an SW cleaning code, so either solvent or water-based cleaners can be used, and welting trims the seams. Seat height is 19¼ inches and arm height 25½ inches. The chair was designed to accompany the Morrison Dining Table from the same collection, but it sits well with other tables too.
