At 14 inches across, the Theodore Alexander Repose Round Side Table is the piece you pull up to a chair and take away again afterwards. Its oak surface has just enough lip to hold a glass, which is why it works as a drink table as readily as an occasional piece, and the spade leg base keeps it looking light on its feet.

Design & Craftsmanship

Construction follows the larger pieces in the range: oak wood and oak veneer above, steel below, the metal given a bronze cast so the two materials never blur into one another. Finishing runs over several stages by hand, raising the grain before any colour goes on, and the result is offered as Grey Oak (PCF1175.1K2HA3F) or Charcoal Oak (PCF1186.1L2HA3F). Standing 22 inches high, the Theodore Alexander Repose Round Side Table matches the height of its wider relative, so two diameters can flank a sofa without stepping out of line. It belongs to the Repose collection.

A small round table earns its keep in a Brickell condominium, where floor area is counted carefully and an eleven-pound piece can migrate from the reading chair to the terrace door as the evening moves on. The shelf underneath takes a novel, a remote or a folded throw, and the tray edge means nothing rolls off in passing.
