The Global Views Butterflies for Brains sculpture sets hundreds of hand-applied iron butterflies across the surface of an iron bust, turning a classic silhouette into an iron butterfly sculpture full of movement. Resting on a white marble base, it stands just under two feet tall, ideal for a library shelf, a foyer table, or a gallery wall ledge where its texture rewards a closer look. From a distance the silhouette reads as a classic bust, and it is only up close that the hundreds of individual butterflies become clear.

Design & Craftsmanship

Part of the For Brains collection, each butterfly is applied to the bust by hand, so no two Global Views Butterflies for Brains pieces have quite the same coverage pattern across the face and shoulders. The bust itself is cast in iron with a warm metallic gold-toned finish, while the white marble base sculpture element grounds the piece and keeps the proportions balanced. Made in China, it suits an Aventura study or a Pinecrest library as a bust sculpture with butterflies that reads as fine art rather than a novelty piece. At just over 30 pounds, it has enough weight to hold a shelf or console on its own, without needing other objects grouped around it for support.
