Standing 80 inches tall on a footprint barely larger than an armchair, the Theodore Alexander Encore Glass Door Cabinet makes its case with an elongated oval glass front set into a softly rounded ziricote veneer case. Behind the glass sits illuminated interior shelving, so whatever you choose to display, glassware, ceramics or a small collection, is lit from within after dark.

Design & Craftsmanship

The contrast of dark, richly figured wood against clear glass is the whole idea: the ziricote reads almost black in places, while the oval opening lightens the mass and draws the eye to the objects rather than the joinery. Wood-Bourbon (VCF2177) is the finish, deep and warm over that dramatic grain, and the piece comes from Theodore Alexander's Judith Leiber Couture collection, where curved cases and precious materials recur. An anti-tip kit is supplied, which matters at this height. The Theodore Alexander Encore Glass Door Cabinet works beautifully in a living room corner in Coconut Grove or flanking a fireplace in a Key Biscayne house, and it also earns its keep in a dining room as a bar and display cabinet in one.
