A 24-inch square in brushed oak, the Theodore Alexander Repose Square Side Table takes its cue from Scandinavian design: no ornament, no fussy apron detail, simply a flat top resting on filled trapezoid legs. Use it as a lamp table beside a sofa, a landing spot for a drink next to a reading chair, or as a pair either side of a daybed.

Design & Craftsmanship

Oak wood and oak veneer are taken through an intensive multi-step hand finish, built up in layers and cut back between coats, which is what pulls the grain forward rather than burying it. Two colourways are offered. Grey Oak, coded PCF1175.1K2HA3F, stays cool and pale; Charcoal Oak, coded PCF1186.1L2HA3F, runs deep and smoky. Those filled trapezoid style legs give the table a planted stance. Part of the Repose collection, the Theodore Alexander Repose Square Side Table sits naturally alongside other Repose pieces wearing the same pair of oaks.

In a Brickell condominium living room a square top is easier to live with than a round one, because it lines up with the arm of a sofa and leaves no awkward gap. At 22 inches high it meets most seat arms cleanly, and the Charcoal Oak finish is forgiving of the marks that a glass or a set of keys will leave over a Miami summer.
