Hall furniture has to hold a lot and take up little floor, and the Theodore Alexander Catalina Hall Chest does both: a two-door chest 46 inches wide and only 19 inches deep, standing 38 inches tall. Behind the doors sits an adjustable shelf, so boots, bags, table linen or board games can each be given the height they need. The cathedral ash fronts are matched for symmetry, which is what makes the piece calm to walk past.

Design & Craftsmanship

Figured ash covers the doors in mirrored pairs, and the top is done in Theodore Alexander's Mineral finish, a porous, stone-like surface that shrugs off keys and post. Textured Ember pulls in metal mark each door. The Theodore Alexander Catalina Hall Chest comes in the Catalina collection's two colourways, Earth (PCF1177.2G) or Dune (PCF1176.2G), and an anti-tip kit is supplied because a tall, shallow case belongs fixed to the wall. Dune suits a bright Miami Beach entry; Earth grounds a panelled hall in Pinecrest, and either can move into a living room later as closed storage.
